Mr Gopinath is a 'spoiler' not because he claims to be an independent but because he has chosen a constituency where his friend Anantha Kumar is standing with whom he has had very close connections. He was a BJP candidate in 1993 but did not see the party as communal even after Babri Masjid! He owes gratitude to Anantha Kumar for his licence for Air Deccan as well as the money invested by the BJP associates in his Company as start up capital. I do not see how he can say that the events of 26/11 made him realise about the communal bias of politicians!! How can one be sure that he is not standing from the South Delhi just to snatch some votes and help his friend from the BJP? When I confronted him with this question, he only remarked that he could stand from anywhere in India? Then why not from the constituency where he resides in Bangalore?
